Funeral services were to be held this afternoon for J. B. Jones, 90, Confederate veteran, who died at his home yesterday after a short illness.
Services were to be held from the Jones Primitive Baptist Church, with interment at Mount Pleasant cemetery.
R. C. Ulmer and Company was in charge of arrangements.

James Burrell Jones was born in Wayne County (what is now Brantley County) to James and Mary Margaret Mizelle Jones. He married Mary Matilda Highsmith Jones at the young age of 16. A year and half later Mary gave him their first son, John was born 20 Nov 1859, followed by 12 more children, taking a toll on Mary Matilda who died while giving birth or soon after the birth of the twelveth, Sarah, who was born 3 Jul 1881.
The 1880 Census lists James Burrell Jones at age 38, married, living in Wayne County, his occupation is a Turpentine Manufacturer.
April 28, 1886 he married Nettie Lucilla Sweat in Ware County, Ga.
1930 Census lists James B. Jones living in Ware County, GA, 402 Thomas Street, age 87, widowed.
Other records indicate Jones Primitive Baptist Church was located on his property on Thomas Street. The church later became Zion Rest Primitive Baptist Church which is located in Waycross, Ga.
He passed away at age 90, in Waycross, Ware County, Ga.
