Born Camden County, Ga. he was a farmer and schoolteacher. Soon after marraige Burrell Jones bought land near where the town of Folkston is now, in what was then western portion of Camden Co., but about 1840 he sold out and moved back to what was then Wayne and now brantley Co., and located near the present village of Lulaton, Ga. Buried in New Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cem., Hickox, Ga.
