Russell - Funeral services were held here for Mrs. Marie Katherine Dumler, 83, pioneer Russell County resident. Born Nov. 3, 1869 at Blumfeldt, Russia, Mrs. Dumler came to this county in 1890, shortly after her marriage to the late George B. Dumler.
The couple first settled in Topeka, later moving to the farm in the Pioneer community of Russell County. In 1924 the family moved to Russell.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Marie C. Meier, Wichita; Pauline, San Diego, Cal.; Mrs. Elizabeth Mohl and Mrs. Grace Wilkerson, Russell and four sons, Albert and Carl of San Diego and Edward and Rudolph, Russell.

Mrs. Dumler's Rites Will Be Saturday
Pioneer Countian Dies At Home Here
Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Katherine Dumler, 83, pioneer Russell Countian resident, will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at St. John's Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Dumler died at 1:25 p.m. yesterday at her home, 1026 North Maple St. She had been ill two days and her death was unexpected.
Born in Russia.
Born Nov. 3, 1869, at Blumenfeldt, Russia. Mrs. Dumler came to this country in 1890, shortly after her marriage to the late George B. Dumler.
After coming to this country, the Dumlers settled in Topeka, later moving on a farm in the Pioneer community of Russell County. In 1924 the family moved in Russell.
Eight Children Survive
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Marie C. Meier, Wichita; Miss Pauline Dumler, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Elizabeth Mohl and Mrs. Grace Wilkerson, Russell; four sons, Albert and Carl, San Diego, and Edward and Rudolph, Russell. A daughter, Julia, died in 1938. Her husband preceded her in 1936.
The Rev. Theodore H. Althof will be in charge of the funeral and burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery. A short service will be held at 2 p.m. at the Deines Brothers Funeral Home.

Marie Katherine Dumler nee Scholtthauer (sic) was born November 3, 1869 in Blumenfeldt, Russia and departed this life on January 21, 1953, at her home in Russell, aged 83 years two months and 18 days. She was united in marriage to George B. Dumler in 1890 and that same year she came with her husband to America. With the exception of four years spent in Topeka, Kansas, she spent her lifetime in Russell County. Their marriage was blessed with 13 children, two sons and two daughters died in early infancy and a daughter, Julia Ann Rogg passed away in 1938. Her husband also preceded her in death in 1936.
She is survived by four daughters and four sons; Mrs. Marie C. Meier, Wichita, Kansas; Mrs. Elizabeth Mohl, Russell; Pauline Dumler, San Diego, California; Mrs. Grace Wilkerson, Russell; Edward and Rudolph of Russell; and Albert and Carl Dumler of San Diego, Calif. Also 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many other close relatives and friends.
Services - Saturday, January 24, 1953 at 2:00 p.m.
