Thomas Stopher was a railroad man and farmer. His parents were Henry Stopher, said to be born in Scotland and Phebe Walker said to be born in Ohio or Virginia. Thomas died of Tuberculosis. Thomas was a railroad man. Thomas was married several times and had at least one child out of wedlock which he raised. She was Clara Zetta Stopher whose mother was Lizzie Porter, whom Thomas refused to marry. Another child he raised was Glendora Stopher "Glennie" who married a Mr. Clark. Her mother is unknown to me at this time. Any other children he may have had out of wedlock are unknown. Some of his many children are: Elsie May Stopher; Dewey Everett Stopher; Thomas Oliver Stopher; Dennis Lloyd Stopher and Bertha Pauline Stopher; Glenna Stopher; Harvey Stopher; Frank Stopher; Robert Stopher; Clem Stopher; Clara Zetta Stopher and Ralph Stopher. Thomas' last wife was Ella Gage which may account for the large tombstone which was made for Stephen Gage, Ella's father and also Thomas Stopher, her husband. Their names are both on the grave. They are buried together.
