Mr. J.R. Fore came to Young County when a boy, where he was a resident most of the time since.
On 2 July 1892, he was united in marriage to Miss Ella Bell of Graham, Texas, who survives him. He had been a member of the Christian Church since 1892 and had lived the life of a true consecrated Christian. In temperament, he was mild, conciliatory and candid, and yet possessed an uncompromising firmness, which gave to him the confidence, love, and esteem of all who knew him.
Besides his wife, he leaves three sons; one grandson; two brothers and six sisters.
Jesse Fore was nine years old when his family moved from near Somerset, Kentucky to Weatherford, Texas. He was 14 when they moved from Weatherford to the Gooseneck community in Young County. At the age of 28, he went into the livery stable business in Wichita Falls with his brothers - John and Will Fore. In 1891, he moved with his brother Will Fore to Memphis, Texas and went into the grocery business with him. Jesse Fore drove a buggy from Memphis, Texas to Graham, Texas to marry Ella Bell. There were three boys born to this union: William, Jesse, and George. All of the children were born in Memphis, Texas. Jesse R. Fore suffered a stroke at Memphis, Texas in 1900 at the age of 40. In 1903, after the death of his father, G.W. Fore, Jesse Fore bought the old home place at Gooseneck Bend from the rest of the children. His three sons - Jesse, William, and George were raised at Gooseneck.
