George Washington Fore was a twin to Catherine Fore.

George Washington Fore married Nancy Jane Hunt on 1 October 1848 at Pulaski County, Kentucky. The marriage bond for the marriage was signed by Josiah A. Baker, husband of George's twin sister, Nancy "Kate" [Fore] Baker.

In 1869, G.W. Fore's family moved to Parker county. His mother and twin sister were already in the area. The couple lived in the Baker community, Parker County, Texas for a time.

George Fore moved to Young County before 1872 and purchased his first property in 1875. Young County records, Book F, page 143 shows he patented land, and his chain carriers were his son, John S. Fore, and J.J. Johnson, a nephew. The land was adjacent to his son's land. He claimed 160 acres of land from the former Brazos Indian Reserve.

George Fore and his son donated land for a burial ground, school building, and church building from their land.

George Fore married his second wife, Mrs. Jane Woods on 14 April 1878 at her home in the Gooseneck community. She had three children with her first husband, John Woods. These children were at the Fore Reunion of 1897 - Mrs. James S. "Mary E. [Clark]" Wood, Mrs. Claramond "Clara" J. Taylor, wife of James "Jim" Polk Taylor, Mrs. Casandra "Cassie" L. Weatherford, wife of William "Billie" C. Weatherford. Our Fore family records show that Jane and John Woods had six children at one time - Casandra, Clermont, James, Alice, Luraner, Susan. In 1900, she stated on the census that only four children were alive. The couple must have separated since Mrs. Jane Fore was living with a daughter in 1900 at Albany, Texas.

George Fore died at his home in the Gooseneck community of Young County, Texas.
