Joseph was the son of Jesse Fore and Nancy Catherine Davis. He married about 1834 to Sarah A. Hughes, daughter of Newlin Hughes and Polly Ann Hyde. They had one known daughter in 1835 Sarah A. Fore, maybe more children?. They had left NC and were in Union Co., Ga in 1850 and in 1860 in Towns Co., Ga.
Joseph joined the civil war with other relatives, Charles E.Davenport and Joseph Hughes.

Age: 48 He was in Company B, 62nd infantry NC same one as brother of his wife, Joseph M. Hughes, the same unit under Capt . Moore. He was probably buried in Knoxville, Tn. unknown.

His wife Sarah stayed in Towns, Ga. listed in the 1870 and 1880 census. Two of her sister's children lived with her.
It seems she applied for a widow's pension in Sept. 1882.
I have not found it yet.

Joseph Died 1865 while serving as a recruiting officer in the Civil War. He was killed when a brick fell from a building and struck his head [ELLEN BYRNE: FORE, FOREE, FAURE, FORD NOTES (Page 09]
