George Fore married Miss Effie Reed on 8 March 1923 at Mineral Wells, Texas in the parsonage of the First Baptist minister.

George and his brother, J.B. Fore, Sr. opened Fore Brothers Company on 1 August 1919 and they were in continuous operation until their retirement in 1974. Their first place of business was located on North Oak near the site of the Dodd building. They moved to the east side of the square and remained there until 1971 when they sold their building to the First National Bank for the construction of a new bank home. He was an avid sports fan and played early-day minor league baseball in Graham. George served as a deacon and an elder for the Eastside Church of Christ for many years. He was a member of the Graham School Board when the new high school was completed in 1939. He served on the school board for nine years and ran unopposed. Mr. Fore was a member of the Rotary Club and Odd Fellows Club. Mr. Fore was a longtime member of the Ligon-Daniel Post No. 34, American Legion and he was a veteran of World War I with the Balloon Corps. George was the grandson of W.C. Beckham who founded the first bank in Young County, Beckham National Bank. George moved to Young County with his parents in 1903 from Memphis, Hall County, Texas.
