Jesse G. Ferguson, 92, of 414 N. Iowa, died Monday at 4:30 p.m., at Red Wing, Minn., where he had been visiting his son, Bernard Ferguson.
He was born Sept. 21, 1881, in Ottumwa, to George and Ida Parnell Ferguson.
He was a lifetime resident of Ottumwa and was a cigar maker for 25 years before being employed by John Morrell and Co., for 25 years. He retired in 1947 from Morrell. He was a member of the East End Presbyterian Church.
On April 30, 1908, he married June V. Stater in Ottumwa. She preceded him in death on Oct. 17, 1973. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Leroy (Corinne) Anderson of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Carlton (Delores) Starr of Fairfield; one sone, Bernard Ferguson of Red Wing, Minn,; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending at Reece Funeral Home.
A memorial fund has been established payable to the East End Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services for Jesse G. Ferguson, 92, of 414 N. Iowa, who died Monday at 4:30 p.m. at Red Wing, Minn., will be held Thursday at 1:30 pm.m at East End Presbyterian Church.
The Rev. Wayne Parker will officiate. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Phillip Starr, Jack Kreutzbender, Robert Conger, Steven Overturf, Floyd Ferguson and Harold Barton.
The casket will be taken from Reece Funeral Home to the church on Thursday at 11 a.m., and will be closed at the beginning of the service.
