Albert Sylvester Dumler, son of David M. and Amelia (Milberger) Dumler, was born January 19, 1907, at Russell, Kansas. His death occurred May 6, 1995 in the Wheatland Nursing Center, Russell, Kansas after several months of failing health. His age was 88 years 3 months and 17 days.
Albert lived his early life in the Russell community, received his early education in the local schools and on March 11, 1939 was united in marriage to Vivian (Rhoads) Manson at Russell, Kansas, and for several years they made their home in Russell. During World War II, Albert served in the US Army and after his honorable discharge from military service, returned to Russell to make his home. While in Russell he served as Register of Deeds and managed the B. F. Goodrich Store. The family later moved to Denver, Colorado where they lived for a number of years. During this time Albert co-owned and was involved in automotive stores until his retirement.
Albert and Vivian moved to McPherson, Kansas in 1972, later returning to Russell in 1984 to make their retirement home. After the death of his wife, Vivian, on Sept. 8, 1989, Albert continued to live at home until his he health required closer attention and he became a resident a the Nursing Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Vivian, daughter Coila Jo Wegner; brothers, Julius, Paul, Bernard and three infants, sisters; Amelia Drogemeier, Agnes Spencer and a sister Matilda Dumler who died at age 8 years, also one grandson, Theodore Rhoads Manson, and a nephew Bill Hoffman.
Survivors are his son Thomas G. Manson of Leawood, Kansas; sisters, Mildred Cling and Mollie Colombo, both of McPherson, Kansas and Imogene Hoffman of Russell, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
