Dumler will be cremated at Sunset Gardens Crematory in Carlsbad, NM. Dumler who was 70, died Thursday, May 25, (1989) at Audie Murphy Memorial Veterans Administration Hospital. in San Antonio, TX. He was born Jan. 8, 1919, in Russell, and was married to Joan V. Whitehead on Jan. 16, 1947 in Seminole, TX. Mr. Dumler has made Hobbs his home since 1947, having come from Midland, TX. He had been owner of New Mexico Construction since 1962. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving as a staff sergeant in the Military Police in Manila and Hawaii for four and a half years. He was a recipient of the Medal of Valor and the Purple Heart. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hobbs.
Survivors are: his wife, Joan of the home; two daughters, Deborah Coburn, of San Antonio, TX; and Gina A. Uber, of Copan, OK; one brother, Albert S. Dumler of Russell, KS; three sisters, Mildred Cling and Mollie Colombo of McPherson, KS; and Imogene Hoffman, of Russell, KS; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David M. Dumler, three sisters and five brothers.
