Imogene F. Hoffman, 88, of Russell, Kansas, died on February 3, 2013, at the Golden Living Center in Wilson, Kansas.

Imogene was born on November 01, 1924, in Russell, Kansas, the daughter of David M. and Amelia (Milberger) Dumler. She grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in 1942. She met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Kenneth James Hoffman on April 11, 1947, in Hays, Kansas. From this union Imogene and Kenneth were blessed with four sons Barry, William, Stephen and Brian. Kenneth preceded her in death on March 19, 2006. She worked as a secretary for St. John Lutheran Church in Russell and as a bookkeeper for a local oil company and was a former owner of the Family Recreation Center. She was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church, the Women's V.F.W. Auxiliary and proudly served as a Gold Star Mother. She enjoyed church activities, patriotic events, collecting porcelain chickens, singing in the church choir and traveling to Colorado. Most of all, she enjoyed spending her time with her family, especially her many grandchildren.

Surviving family include her sons Barry Alan Hoffman and wife Leslie of Russell, Stephen James Hoffman of DeSoto, Texas and Brian Todd Hoffman and wife Dana of Flower Mound, Texas; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her son, William David Hoffman, who was killed in action in Vietnam on April 6, 1968.

A celebration of Imogene's life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, February 8, 2013, at the St. John Lutheran Church in Russell with Pastor Roger Dennis officiating. Burial will follow at the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Russell, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the St. John Lutheran Church or the Russell County Veteran's Memorial. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
