Frances June Scott, 85, Canton, died Sunday, August 19, 2001, in Blessing Hospital, Quincy.
Born June 25, 1916 at Elk Point, S.D., she was the daughter of Fred and Iva Dill Hartwig. She married Merle Scott on November 24, 1934, in Elk Point, S.D.
Mrs. Scott was a homemaker, she and her husband had owned and operated Scotts Super Service and taxi, a paper route and had helped with house keeping for several families in Canton. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Canton. She enjoyed camping and was a member of Good Sams Club for several years.
Survivors include her husband, Merle, Canton; one son Bill Scott and his wife, Judy, Canton; four grandchildren, Steve Scot and his wife Jennifer; Julie Moon and her husband Terry, Canton; Darryl and Dana Scott, Dayton, Ohio; six step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; 15 step great grandchildren; three step great great grandchildren; two brothers, Bob Hartwig, Canton and Jay Hartwig, Corvallis, Ore.; five sisters, Mary Logsdon and Mrs. Walter (Kay) Dochterman, Canton; Nellie McCollister, Sublimity, Ore.; Opal Rubel, Salem, Ore.; and Dorothy Oakers, Lancaster, Calif.; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son Gene; two infant children; one brother, David Hartwig.
Visitation was held Tuesday, August 21, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. with family present after 6:00 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Canton.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2001, at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Canton, with Rev. Stacey Nicholas officiating.
Interment was in Forest Grove Cemetery at Canton.
Music was provided by Karla McReynolds, organist and congregational singing.
Pallbearers were Andrew and Steve Scott, Terry and Corey Moon, Tim Dochterman and Ted Livingston.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel United Methodist Church, Canton.
