Mary E. Logsdon, age 86, of St. Patrick, MO, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015 at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka.

Mary was born March 12, 1929 at Akron, IA, a daughter of Fred and Iva Dill Hartwig.

She was united in marriage to James E. Logsdon on August 10, 1948 at the Shrine of St. Patrick by Rev. Msg. Francis O’Duignan. James preceded her in death on February 28, 1980.

Survivors include one son, Emmett “Dan” Logsdon and his wife, Elizabeth Motlow of Sewanee, TN; three daughters: Sandy Reynolds of Gilson, IL, Pam Ferguson and her husband, Tom, of Peoria, IL and Donna Logsdon of West Point, IA; daughter-in-law, Teresa Logsdon of LaGrange, MO; thirteen grandchildren: Todd (Ernesta) Texter of London, England, Jeff Texter of Phoenix, AZ, Sarah (Mike) Tracy of Mesa, AZ, Adam Logsdon of Oklahoma City, OK, Jeremy (Robin) Burkhart of Wayland, MO, Jim Logsdon, Zach (Bergetta) Logsdon and Nate Logsdon, all of Canton, MO, Christian Logsdon of Quincy, IL, Kristal (Jacob) Savoia of Canton, MO, Angela (Roberto) Guerrido and Michele (Jay) Hoffman, all of Milwaukee, WI, and Andrew Tripp of Hannibal, MO; several great-grandchildren; her siblings, Kay Dochterman and Robert Hartwig, both of Canton, MO, and Nellie McCollister of Sublimity, OR; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Pauline Logsdon of Clinton, IA, Alma Murphy of Davenport, IA, Bernard (Joan) Logsdon of Keokuk, IA, Betty Logsdon of Kahoka, MO, Don (Wanda) Logsdon of Moline, IL, and Steve (Georgia) Logsdon of Keokuk, IA; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

"She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, her brothers David Hartwig and Jay Hartwig; her sisters Francis Hartwig Scott, Opal Hartwig Ruble, and Dorothy Hartwig Oakes; and her son Stanley Logsdon

Mary was a faithful member of the Shrine of St. Patrick and of the Daughters of Isabella. She would involve her children and grandchildren by serving breakfast at the Shrine each St. Patrick’s Day and also would help with the additional meals on both St. Patrick’s Day and the 4th of July during their annual celebrations.

Mary loved being outdoors. She loved trapping and hunting, especially squirrel which was requested by her grown children whenever they returned home. She also loved fishing, gardening and raising animals. When her children were still at home, the family loved boating on the Mississippi with family and friends. In her 70's, Mary taught herself how to play the guitar and took lessons on the piano from Lucille Danker. Her children, grandchildren, and extended family were a very important part of her life.

Cremation followed with inurnment at a later date.
