George was the son of Allen Ross Bennett and Margaret "Maggie" Maude Reeves. He had a twin sister, Ruth Marie Bennett. George was a veteran of WWII. His brother, Nyal Hogan Bennett also served in the war but was killed at Corregidor, other brother's, John Allen Bennett and Richard Forrest Bennett served in the Army during WWII. George worked on the Alaskan pipeline for many years and was married to Roxanne Bennett.
