Married Cecil Irving Tompkins, February 15, 1946, in Denver, Colorado. Naomi was active in the First Methodist Church of Olathe and the Girl Scouts of America in Atlanta, Georgia. She was also a lifetime member of the Defenders of Corregidor and Bataan. Her brother, Nyal Bennett was killed on Corregidor during WWII. Naomi was a wonderful seamstress, and loved trout fishing. She managed the bridal alterations department at the Metcalf South Harzfeld's; was a member of the First Methodist Church of Olathe and was active in Girl Scouts of America in Atlanta, GA.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Allen Ross Bennett and Maude "Maggie" Reeves Bennett, six brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her husband, Cecil Irvin Tompkins, of the home; two daughters, Kathy Naomi Tompkins of Kansas City, MO., Cecilia McCluskey and husband, Peter, of Mission, KS.

Services will be at 9 a.m., Monday, January 27, 2003 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS. Burial will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2003. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association through Bruce Funeral Home.
