Mary Lorene spent her younger days in Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. She converted at the young age of 15, and was a member of the Bethel Grove Presbyterian Church of Farmington, Arkansas. She graduated from Caney, Kansas, High School in 1932. She was the second oldest in a family of nine children.

She married Clinton Houston at Washington County, Arkansas, February 6, 1934. They moved to Denver, Colorado in 1937. They loved the Rocky Mountains and made Denver their home. The family attended West Side Christian Church for many years. They were blessed with three children. Janice, Judy and son, Jack.

The love of her life was caring and loving 31 nieces and nephews and nine grandchildren. She will be long remembered and loved by family and friends.

Daughter of Allen Ross Bennett and Margaret "Maggie" Maude Reeves.
