Albert Giere was born at Hayfield, Minn. on Nov. 2, 1891. He was the son of Severt Giere and Ingeborg Molle. In 1915, the family moved to Wheeler, where he farmed with his parents. Mr. Giere served in the United States Army during the First World War for 13 months as a musician in the Army band.
On November 1, 1919, he married Mabel Lefstad. Two children were born to them: Irene Lucille and Russell Milford.
In 1919, he became manager of the Equity Elevator company at Wheeler, where he remained for nine years. The family moved to Eleva, Wis. In 1928 where Mr. Giere became manager of the Eleva Equity cooperative Elevator company. In 1934, he became manager of the Equity Cooperative Elevator company at River Falls, in which capacity he has served for the past 18 years. He passed away Saturday, March 28, at the age of 61.
He is survived by his wife Mabel, one daughter, Irene of Phoenix, Ariz, and one son, Russell, Milwaukee. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Mary Valsvik and Mrs. Julia Koenig, both of Rochester, Minn., and two brothers Martin and Louis, Menomonie. His parents and one brother, Leo, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, 11 a.m. Family devotion at the Davis-McLaughlin Funeral home, and at 2 p.m. at the Lutheran House of Worship with Rev. Arthur S. Johnson officiating. Interment was made at Wheeler. Pallbearers were Adolph Masden, Carl Herum, Howard Collins, Anthony Deiss, Wm. Noltner and Emil Amundson.
