Mrs. Mary P. Ayers
MAX MEADOWS-Mrs. Mary Pope Ayers, 71, died Wednesday at her home here.
Surviving are her husband, William F. Ayers; three daughters, Mrs. Ben White, Max Meadows; Mrs. Howard McAllister, Wytheville; Mrs. Eldridge Reynolds, Austinville; four sons, Glenn Ayers, Roanoke; Ermon Ayers, Newport News; Fred Ayers and Frank Ayers, both of Max Meadows; three sisters, Mrs. Will Vaught, Fries; Mrs. Laura Brinkley, Galax; Mrs. Annie Bryant, Pulaski; a brother, James Pope, Fries; fourteen grandchildren.
Funeral services were held today [Friday] at 2:00 P.M. at the Max Meadows Methodist Church. The interment was in the West End Cemetery here. Barnett's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
