Ina Ayers White, 81, of Route 2, Max Meadows, the Galena Community, died Thursday, February 1, 1996, at her residence.

Funeral services were held Sunday, February 4, at 2 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Vaughan Earl Hartsell and the Rev. Norman Wilhoit officiating. Interment followed in the West End Cemetery.

She was born in Grayson County, the daughter of the late William Fleming and Mary Ayers.

She was a member of the Galena Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years and served as treasurer for many years.

She was a former teacher's aide with the Wythe County School system.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Robert White, Sr.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Delena and Billy Frown of Salem; a son and daughter-in-law, Ben Robert and Pam White of Raleigh, N.C.; five grandchildren, E.C. Brown, Jr., David Robert Brown, Joseph Clayton Brown, Kristin Jeanne White, and Kevin Robert White; one great-grandson, Matthew Morton Brown; and two sisters, Blanche McAllister of Wytheville, and Annie Reynolds of Austinville.

The family received friends Saturday, February 3, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, and at the residence at any time.

The family suggested that those who prefer may make memorials to the Lead Mines Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 502, Austinville, Va. 24312 or the Galena Presbyterian Church.

Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville was in charge of the arrangements.
