Samuel I. Zumbrum

Hanover – Samuel I. Zumbrum, husband of Mrs. Florence Rinehart Zumbrum, 1054 Baltimore Street, died at 6:30 last night at Hanover General Hospital, where he had been a patient since August 15. He was 60.
Mr. Zumbrum retired two years ago after operating a general store at Hobart for many years. He was a member of the Lutheran congregation of St. Paul’s (Dub’s) Union Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by eight children, Norman S. Zumbrum, 310 East Middle Street; Mrs. Melvin Brown, 454 South High Street; Mrs. William James, Mrs. Richard Fissel and Clair J. Zumbrum, all of Hanover RD 2; Shirley Zumbrum, at home; Marlin E. Zumbrum, 32 Lincoln Drive, and Jesse G. Zumbrum, serving with the Army at Fort Jackson, S.C.
Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, five brothers and a sister, Ralph and Raymond Zumbrum, both of Hanover RD 2; Ammon Zumbrum, George Zumbrum and Mrs. Howard Shaffer, all of Hanover, and Cletus Zumbrum, Brodbeck RD 1.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Frederick Bucher Funeral Home, 269 Frederick Street. Rev. Carl E. Yost, Mr. Zumbrum’s pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Penn Memorial Gardens.
