Norman S. Zumbrum

HANOVER - Norman S. Zumbrum, 67, of 413 Allegheny Ave., died at 2:40 a.m. Monday at his home.
Born in Brodbecks, he was the son of the late Samuel and Florence (Rinehart) Zumbrum. He was the husband of June (Lawson) Zumbrum to whom he was married for 43 years.
Mr. Zumbrum was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, York Street. He retired in 1987 after 17 years of service with Snyder's of Hanover, Inc.
He was a life member and post commander of the Hanover VFW Post 2506, the color guard and the military order of the Cootie of the United States. He was a life member and past president of the Republican Club of Hanover, the American Legion Harold H. Bair Post No. 14, Hanover Eagles, Hanover Home Association, Loyal order of Moose Hanover Lodge No. 227 and Hanover BPOE Lodge No. 763.
He also was a member of the Bill English spring hunting camp and associate member of the Mosquite Creek sportsman club, Frenchville, Pa.
Mr. Zumbrum served in the Army during World War II and served from 1947 to 1958 in the naval reserve.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Deborh J. Laughman of York; two sons, Douglas N. Zumbrum and David C. Zumbrum, both of New Oxford; six grandchildren, three brothers, Clair Zumbrum and Jesse Zumbrum, both of Hanover, and Marlin Zumbrum of Thomasville; and three sisters, Betty James, Romaine Fissel and Shirley Wildasin, all of Hanover.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, with the Rev. Douglas Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover. Viewing will be Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
