Rex E. Arterburn, 41, Ceco Employe, Dies Wednesday
Rex Eugene Arterburn, 41, employe of Cummins Engine company, died Wednesday at the Bartholomew county hospital following a 7-month illness. He lived at 372 Cleveland street.
Rites will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Barkes and Inlow funeral home conducted by the Rev. Delmar Wininger. Burial will be at Garland Brook cemetery. Persons may call until 9 o'clock tonight at the funeral home.
Born in Monroe county, Ky., Feb. 18, 1926, he was the son of Gusso and Lura Turner Arterburn. He married the former Dorothy Stevens in Glasgow, Ky., July 9, 1958. Mr. Arterburn was a veteran of the second world war and a member of the Church of Christ on East Tenth street. He had been employed by Cummins 15 years.
Surviving with his wife are a stepson, Steven Vanest of 1512 Lafayette avenue; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Marshall Fulkerson of Terre Haute; five brothers, Bart Arterburn of 1109 Lafayette avenue, Raymond Arterburn of Lamb, Ky., Bernice Arterburn of Rockville, Nello Arterburn of Ontario, Calif., and Edward Arterburn of 161 North Ross street, and five sisters, Mrs. Jack Hunt of Lamb, Mrs. Goble Houchins of Glasgow, Mrs. Willie Hunt of Fountain Run, Ky., Mrs. Gilbert Priddy of Newbern and Mrs. Frank Goad of Modgdore, Ohio. A brother, D. P. Arterburn, died in November.
