Ernest (Bart) Arterburn, 61, 1109 Lafayette, died at 8 p.m. Tuesday at his residence. He had been in ill health for three years. Arterburn retired two years ago from Cummins Engine company, where he had been employed for 29 years.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Garden City Church of Christ by Rev. Bill Eaton. Burial will be at Garland Brook cemetery.

Persons may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 11 p.m. Friday at the Barkes, Inlow and Weaver funeral home and after noon Friday at the church.

Arterburn was born Jan. 21, 1914, in Monroe county, Ky., to the late G.O. and Laura Turner Arterburn. He married Beadie Samson June 17, 1934, and she survives.

Other survivors include five sons, Ernest Ray Arterburn of San Francisco, Calif., Larry Arterburn of Tallahassee, Fla., William Arterburn of Seymour route 4, Robert Arterburn of Route 6 and John Arterburn of Route 3; four brothers, Raymond Arterburn of Monroe county, Ky., Fred Arterburn of Rockville, Ed Arterburn of 2502 Lafayette and Nello Arterburn of Lafayette; four sisters, Mrs. Jack Hunt of Monroe county, Ky., Mrs. Gobel Houchens of Barren county, Ky., Edna Priddy of 420 Brooks and Mrs. Frank Goad of Mogadore, Ohio; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
