He was the husband of Ethel M. (Baugher) Flinchbaugh. The couple observed their 51st wedding anniversary March 21.
The service will be 7p.m., Thursday, at Burg Funeral Home, 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Mount Rose Cemetery.
Viewing will be 6 to 7p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. His pastor, the Rev. Benjamin J. Woodring, will officiate.
Mr. Flinchbaugh was born August 1, 1916, in York. He was the son of the late Emory F. and Roseanna (Spangler) Flinchbaugh.
He was a retired security guard at the former Pleasant Acres; prior to that, he was a security guard at York County Courthouse, an auxiliary policeman and a custodian for the City of York, and did car detailing for Bob Dairyman of York. He was a member of Zion Mennonite Church in York and its Sunday school; former president of the Young Men’s Democratic Club; judge of elections for polls at St. Rose of Lima Church; a former president of September House Senior Center; and a U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Flinchbaugh also is survived by a son, Jeffery I. Flinchbaugh of York; four daughters, Francis Zech of Dover, Jennifer L. Nolder of Lynchburg, Va., Roxanne L. Heltzel of Dallastown, and Susan A. Smith of York; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur Flinchbaugh and Richmond Flinchbaugh, both of York; a sister, Jacqueline Lauer of York; and nieces and nephews.
