Heart Attack is Fatal to Memphis Resident

Mrs. Emma Spotswood of 209 North Willett, a Memphis resident since 1940, was pronounced dead on arrival at 9:25 last night at the Methodist Hospital where she was taken in a National Funeral Home ambulance following a heart attack. She was 64.
Mrs. Spotswood was born in Nashville. She was a Methodist.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Count R. Boyd Jr. of Nashville; four sons, Richard Spotswood of Nashville, Alvan Spotswood of Chattanooga, G. W. Spotswood of Colorado Springs and Russell Spotswood of Memphis; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Pardue of Memphis, and a brother, Rogers Dalton, also a Memphian. National Funeral Home is in charge.

Mrs. A. E. Spotswood Dies in Memphis

Mrs. Emma Dalton Spotswood, 64, a former resident of Nashville, died unexpectedly Saturday night at her home in Memphis.
The body will arrive here this morning and will be taken to the M. S. Combs & Co. funeral home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow with the Rev. E. P. Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
A native of Nashville, she was a daughter of the late William and Josie Appleton Dalton, and had lived in Memphis the past eight years. Her husband was the late Alvan E. Spotswood and she was a member of the Methodist church.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. C. R. Boyd Jr., of Nashville; four sons, Alvan H. Spotswood of Chattanooga, George W. Spotswood of Colorado Springs, Colo., Richard Dalton Spotswood of Nashville and Russell Tarpley Spotswood of Memphis; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
