Spotswood Rites Today

Funeral services for Alvan Ernest Spotswood, Former owner of Haymarket Mills, will be held at 10 o'clock this morning at the Wilkerson funeral home with Dr. E. P. Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. Spotswood died at his home on the Gallatin road near Madison after a brief pneumonia illness. He had been in failing health for several years.
A son of George W. and Nanny Roop Spotswood, he was born in Nashville and received his education here. As a young man he entered the milling business with his father and was prominently connected with business affairs of the city until his retirement about a year ago.
He was a member of East End Methodist chrch.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Emma D. Spotswood; a daughter, Mrs. Count P Boyd,Jr., of Nashville; four sons, Alvan H. Spotswood, Chattanooga, and George W., Richard D. and Russell T. Spotswood of Nashville, and five grandchildren.
