Funeral for James Eliphas Fore, 95, of 1221 Northwest Stallings Drive will be held Friday at 2p.m. in the First Church of the Nazarene with interment in the Gravel Ridge Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. C.V. Spaulding, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, and Judge C.A. Raines, former pastor of the church.
Mr. Fore died Wednesday in Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 12, 1884, in Melrose, he had lived his lifetime in the county. He was the son of Perry Davis and Lucinda Jane Black Fore, a retired farmer, and a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Fore and Mary Damaris Rowell were married, and she died Aug. 18, 1959.
Surviving are four sons, John D. Fore, C.M. Fore, and M.R. Fore of Nacogdoches and T.A. Fore of Columbia, S.C.; a daughter Mrs. Mary E. Carter of Houston; two brothers, Albert Fore of Crockett and Dewey Fore of Nacogdoches; a sister, Mrs. Margie Sweetser of Nacogdoches; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Martin Henry, Perry Sweetser, Arthur Mack Johnson, L.J. King, Lavon Lunsford, and Ed Langley. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
Mrs. Beverly Langely will give the music.
Oakley-Metcalf Funeral home will direct arrangements.
