A memorial visitation for Mrs. Mary Fore Carter Steinkuehler, 79, of Nacogdoches will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2012, at Laird Funeral Home. An inurnment will follow at a later date. Mrs. Steinkuehler was born on June 2, 1933, in Nacogdoches to the late James E. Fore and Damaris Rowell Fore. She passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, in Nacogdoches. Mary grew up in the Douglass/Nacogdoches area. She graduated from Douglass High School and worked as a dental assistant and bookkeeper in Houston. She enjoyed playing pool ("shootin' pool"), cards, dominoes, dancing, yard landscaping, home decorating and more. She is survived by two sons, Carl H. Barfield III of Houston and David Barfield of Nacogdoches; one daughter, Belinda Silva of Nacogdoches; three brothers, John D. Fore of Nacogdoches, T.A. Fore of Pelion, S.C., and M.R. Fore of Douglass; one aunt, Lerlene Covington of Colorado; three grandchildren, Sean Barfield of San Marcus, Landon Barfield of Austin and Casey Barfield of Nacogdoches; one great-granddaughter, Sophia Elizabeth Barfield; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and good friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Steinkuehler. Laird Funeral Home.
