Lawrence G. ''Stub'' Brown, 76, of 304 E. Elmwood Ave., Falconer, formerly of Twenty Eighth Creek Road, Kennedy, died at 2:40 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 24, 2010) in WCA Hospital.
An area resident most of his life he was born March 4, 1933, in Erie, Pa., the son of the late Chrystal and Eva Winkler Brown. He attended Randolph Schools and had briefly served in the U.S. Navy. Surviving are two sons, Lawrence Brown II of Falconer and Daniel (Cindy) Brown of Erie; three daughters, Deborah (Stephen) Rexford of Ellington, Cora (Brian) Blair of Jamestown and Betty Jo (Randy) Caldwell of Statesville, N.C.; 12 grandchildren,11 great-grandchildren; brothers, John and Chrystal Brown of Bemus Point, Wesley and James Brown of Falconer; four sisters, Cora Aldrich, Rossabelle Grimes, Laura Larkin and Marjorie Briggs, all of Falconer; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine A. Overturf Brown, whom he married July 27, 1956, in Kennedy; two sons, Allen and Christopher Brown; a great-grandson, PJ Peterson; brothers, William Brown and, an infant brother, Charles Brown, and sisters, Leyla Borquin and, an infant sister, Hazel Brown
