Chrystal C. Brown Jr., 70 of Dutch Hollow Rd., Bemus Point passed away Wednesday (February 8, 2012) in WCA Hospital.


A lifelong area resident he was born August 15, 1941 in North East, PA the son of the late Chrystal C. and Eva Winkler Brown Sr.


Chrystal attended Falconer High School and was employed by Honky-Konk Construction which help construct Route 17 (I-86), Carborundum and prior to retirement was employed by the Town of Ellery Highway Department.


He was a member of the Ellery Center Volunteer Fire Department for 43 years having served in various offices. Chrystal was also a member of the American Red Cross and the Sunrise BMX Bicycle Moto Track. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren, traveling, hunting, cutting wood, remodeling his home, attending auctions and collecting antiques.


Surviving are four children: Joseph (Juanita) Brown Sr. of Kennedy, Virginia Dorman of Fredonia, Rick J. (Michelle) Brown of Sinclairville, Tammy Brown of Jamestown, 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, long time companion Pat Snyder, three brothers: John L. (Diane) Brown of Ellery Center, James Brown of Falconer, Wesley J.(Marcia) Brown of Falconer; four sisters: Rosabelle Grimes, Cora Aldrich, Grace Larkin and Marjorie (Larry) Briggs all of Falconer.


Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers: Charles Brown, William Brown, Lawrence Brown; two sisters: Leyla Borquin and Hazel Brown.


The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Pete Dawson Chautauqua County Fire Department Chaplain will officiate.


Burial will be in Grahamville Cemetery, North East, PA.
