Donald R. Steim, 42, of 154 Steim St. Kittanning was electrocuted Monday about 1:30 p.m. about 8½ miles south of Kittanning, off Route 66, near Crooked Creek state Park. Mr. Steim was employed for 17 years by West Penn Power Company, Kittanning, as a utility man. His memberships included the Limestone Church of God, Adrian where he was a trustee of the church; hose Company No. 1 Kittanning; Armstrong County Firemen's Association; Western Pennsylvania Firemen's Association; president of the Kittanning Local of the Utilities Workers Union of America. He was a former Kittanning councilman from the first ward and a veteran of World War II. Born June 19, 1926 in Rayburn Township, he was the son of Leonard J. and Edith (Sharrer) Steim. Surviving are his widow, Vera Jean (Schaub) Steim; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Steim of Kittanning; six brothers, Charles of New Orleans, La.; George of Niles, Ohio; Robert of Vandergrift; Randall of Kittanning; four sisters, Mrs. Ivan (Helen) Delp of Kittanning, Mrs. Paul (Betty) Caruso of McGrann, Mrs. William (Leah) Lefchik of Ford City, Mrs. Charles (Patricia) Rupp of Indiana. A brother, Benjamin, was killed in World War II. STEIM – Friends of Donald R. Steim of 154 Steim St. Kittanning will be received at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, S. McKean St. Kittanning, from 7-9 p.m. tonight 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and until 11 a.m. Thursday. Friends may pay respects from 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the Limestone Church of God, Adrian, where at 2 p.m. the funeral service will be held, with the Rev. R. A. Taylor, church pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Ernest Hill, pastor of the McMechan, W. Va., Church of God. Burial will take place in Kittanning Cemetery. Arrangements by Snyder.
