Leonard J. Steim, 83, of 154 Steim St., Kittanning, died Friday morning at Scenery Hill Nursing Home, Indiana. Born Oct. 20, 1893 in Kittanning, he was the son of the late John and Thressa (Lorenz) Steim. Steim and his wife, Edith (Sharrer) Steim celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary May 22. He was a member of the St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church and the Armstrong County YMCA's MORA (Men of Retirement Age) Club. Besides his widow, Steim is survived by six sons, Charles L. Metairie, La., Robert J. Vandergrift, George F. Niles, Ohio, Randall P., Edward I, and William C., all of Kittanning; three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Betty) Caruso, Kittanning, Mrs. William (Leah) Lefchik, Ford City and Charles (Patricia) Rupp, Indiana; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Two sons, Benjamin and Donald and a daughter, Mrs. Helen Delp, are deceased. STEIM – Friends of Leonard J. Steim, who died Sept. 2, 1977, may call at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, Kittanning, after 2 p.m. Saturday. A wake service will be conducted at the funeral home Sunday at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Kittanning, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Thomas Bertolina, church pastor, officiating. Burial will take place in Rimer Hill Cemetery, Rimer. Arrangements by Snyder of Kittanning.
