William Ernest "Bill" Steim, 76, of Kittanning, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, at home, surrounded by his family. He was born Sept. 30, 1938, in Kittanning, son of the late Leonard and Edith (Shirey) Steim. He was a lifelong resident of the community and was best known as a self-employed electrician and retired from 5-Rubber Company. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Walkchalk. He was a member of Kittanning Firemans Band (from 1969 to 2011), Hose Company No. 6, VFD lifetime member (1969 to present), and organizer of the World War II veterans trip to Washington D.C. in 2011. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Louise (Goldinger) Steim, of Kittanning; son, Randy E. Steim, of Kittanning; granddaughters, Sara C. Seratine (husband Chris), of Kittanning, and Carrie L. Lee (wife Mindy), of Hollidaysburg; grandson, Edward A. Steim, Army, of Kittanning; sister, Betty G. Caruso, of Kittanning; and many nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Helen Delp, Leah Lefchik and Patricia Rupp; brothers, Charles (Doc), Robert (Pete), Benjamin, George, Randall, Donald and Edward. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME in Kittanning with Pastor Edward Walters, assisted by Pastor Chuck Layne, officiating. Interment will be in Rimer Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Richard G. Laube Cancer Center or Three Rivers Hospice.
