Funeral Rites For E H Wynn Held Thursday
Dodson Man Was Identified With Progress Of County 35 Years
Hundreds of friends gathered to pay tribute to H. E. Wynn, county resident for more than thirty-five years, at funeral services held at the Church of Christ in Dodson Thursday afternoon, October 27, with Minister Guy N. Wood of Wellington in charge.
Mr. Wynn died in a Hollis hospital Tuesday night, October 25. During his years of; residence here, Mr. Wynn had been identified with the progress of the county and had gained the love and respect of hundreds in this area. He was seventy-two years of age at the time of his death.
Surviving are these children, E. S. Wynn, Mrs. G. P. Gordon, Elliott Wynn, H. A. Wynn, L. F. Wynn, Miss Floy Wynn, Marvin Wynn, Ira Wynn and Mrs. Cletus Rollins. Twenty-one grandchildren,three great grandchildren and one sister also survive.
Pallbearers were Fred Boyd, Gilbert Hunt, F. L. White, Al Walker, Jack Davis, and H. A. Painter. Honorary pallbearers were C. C. Boyd, George Wilks, J. W. Scott, Tom Harmon, J. B. Castleberry, Dewey Malone, E. J. Smith, Tom Caldwell, Ed Bennett, W. W. Carter, R. H. Holland, C. C. Bell, and J. D. Thomas.
Flower girls were Jo McKinney, Jo Ann Bowling, Theresa Davis, Paula Jackson, Ruby Hodel, Zelda Mae Welch, Mary Beth Jackson and Lillian Ruth O'Brian Hymns included "Farther Along" and "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be" with Bishop Ricketts in charge of the choir. Interment was in the Dodson Cemetery by the side of his wife, who died in 1936. Arrangements were in charge of the Ellis Funeral Home.
