Edgar E. Easley Laid to Rest
Edgar Earl Easley was born at Proctor, Texas March 19, 1898 and passed away Aug. 30, 1954. Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, with burial being held at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3 in DeLeon cemetery with Rev. Floyd Thrasher conducting the services. Appropriate music was furnished by Homer ---, Marvin Holdridge, Mrs. W.B. Marlin and W.A. Morgan, with Mrs. Marvin Holdridge at the organ.
Pallbearers were the neighbors of the family, being: Murray Sides, Delton Nabors, Dewey Blanton, Charley Miller, Orval Spruill, Charley Reeves, Kermit Neel and Vernon Gilchrest. Flower girls were Azalee Gilchrest, Ruby Cook, Nell Howell, Rae Jean Hasty, Joyce Sides, Lynita Boswell, Cheri Boswell, Arletta Sides, Lajoice Brush, Nadine Pittman, Viola Jefferies and Elizabeth Easley. Higginbotham's were in charge of funeral arrangements.
Mr. Easley was married in Eldorado, Okla. to Vera White on Oct. 16, 1921. Coming to DeLeon 28 years ago, they settled near DeLeon and engaged in farming.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vera Easley, three sons: Jack Easley of Tel-Aviv, Israel, Ray Easley of Elmore City, Okla., Edmer Easley of DeLeon. Five daughters: Mrs. Florene Watson of Elmore City, Okla., Mrs. Faye Rogan of Stephenvile, Mrs. Jane Nowlin of DeLeon, Martha and Jo Katheryn Easley of DeLeon and his mother Mrs. J.W. Easley, four sisters and one brother and a host of other relatives.
