Moving to Wright's Corners in 1922, Mr. Bowers opened a gravel pit. This business he expanded to excavating, grading and blacktopping under the name of A. S. Bowers and Sons. His sons being Layton J., Robert J., and Willard C. Bowers. His business was well known throughout the county.
Mr. Bowers was a member of St. Mary's Church and Holy Name Society. Besides his sons he leaves behind a daughter, Mrs. Norine M. Remington of Lockport, eight grandchildren, two brothers, Nicholas Bowers of Gasport and John Bowers of Lockport, and three sisters, Mrs. Theresa Smoyer of Tonawanda, Mrs. Elizabeth McDonald of Buffalo and Mrs. Louise Argue of Lockport.
