Mrs. Emma Boone Died In Fort Worth

News of the death of Emma C. Boone at Fort Worth, reached Honey Grove Tuesday morning. The news came as a distinct surprise, as no one here had heard that she was ill. Deceased suffered an attack of apoplexy Monday and death followed early Tuesday morning.

Mrs. Emma C. Brown was the widow of James S. Boone, a pioneer resident of Honey Grove, who passed away several years ago. Her maiden name was Emma Woodson, and she was the daughter of the late Colonel P. Woodson, who moved from Kentucky to Honey Grove in 1853. Mrs. Boone was born at Houstonville, Ky., but came to Honey Grove with her parents when she was about 7 years old. She continued her residence here until a few years ago when she went to Fort Worth to make her home with her children.

Mrs. Boone had long been a member of the Presbyterian church. She was a woman of deep piety and a constant student of the Scriptures. She delighted in the services of the sanctuary and was a leader in religious work. She is survived by two children--Mrs. W. F. Barnum and John K. Boone, both of Fort Worth. She is also survived by two sisters--Mrs. Kendall, of Dallas, and Mrs. Dailey, of California--and three brothers.

The body reached Honey Grove Wednesday afternoon and the funeral service was held at the Presbyterian church at 2 o'clock, Dr. R. E. Robinson conducting the funeral service. The body was then given burial in Oakwood, where the bodies of many kindred repose.
