Update of April 11, 2021: Both William Elisha Houk and his brother, Eliza Monroe Houk, have memorials both here in Shaul and in Ormanville Cemetery. According to both of their death certificates and obituaries, they were buried in Ormanville. I called the Shaul Cemetery office, and they have no record of their bodies being moved to Shaul. However, it appears that even if their bodies were not moved into Shaul, their gravestones were.

William's death certificate may be seen in familysearch.org. The date of death on his death certificate was March 29, 1917.

Also, note William's obituary that I have transcribed below, which was published on March 30, 1917, saying he died, "this afternoon." I have noticed that many of these obituaries published in the Ottumwa Tri-Weekly and Semi-Weekly Couriers were reprinted from previous obituaries in the daily courier, so more than likely that was the case with this obituary. Regardless of the difference in one day of death, it does provide additional evidence that William did die in March, and the date of death on his gravestone is incorrect.

Obituary From "Ottumwa Semi-Weekly Courier," Friday, March 30, 1917:

William E. Houk, 19 years old son of Mr. and Mrs. George Houk, died at 1 o'clock this afternoon at the family home on West Mary avenue.

He is survived by his parents, a brother, Olin and three sisters, Edna, Laura and Ora.

The funeral will be held at 10 o'clock Saturday morning from the home and at 11 o'clock in the Ormanville church with Rev. W.E. Prewitt of the Finley Avenue Baptist church in charge. Interment will follow in Ormanville cemetery.
