Died at Lewisham Hospital, Wagga Wagga.


MR. J. T. BAKER
The death occurred in the Lewisham Hospital, Wagga, yesterday, of Mr. John Thomas Baker, of Ladysmith, after a short illness, at the age of 67 years. Mr. Baker was born in Wagga, and had lived in the district nearly all his life where he followed farming and carrying pursuits. For some years he lived in Sydney and the
North Coast. He was the second son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Baker, of 'Woolshed Farm,' Gregadoo, and married Miss Jessie Hopkins, of Wagga, who predeceased him. He is survived by two sons, Messrs. William of Sydney; Robert, of the A.I.F., Darwin; and seven daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Levanes (Griffith), and Mesdames Isabel Murray, L. Brown, B Mitchell. M. Kerr, T. Firth and Miss Amy Baker, all of Sydney; also five brothers, Messrs. James and David, of North Wagga; William, of Delegate; Francis, of Gregadoo; and Oliver S. Baker, of 'Gumly Park,' Tarcutta-road; and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Rush, of Gregadoo, and Mrs. Cooper, of West Australia. One brother, Ed- ward. predeceased him. His funeral will leave Mr. J. C. M'Donald's Funeral Parlor, Wagga, at 4.15 o'clock this afternoon for the Wagga Cemetery.

The funeral of Mr. John Thomas Baker of Ladysmith, and late of Gregadoo, who died in Lewisham Private Hospital, Wagga, on Tuesday, took place yesterday, the cortege leaving Mr. J. C. M'Donald's funeral parlor at 4.15 o'clock. The interment took place in the Church of England division of the Wagga cemetery where the Ven. Archdeacon West officiated at the graveside. The casket, laden with many floral tributes was carried by Messrs. O. S. Baker. Francis Baker, David Baker (brothers), Charles Rush and E. Denton (brothers-in-law) and W. Bush. The pall bearers were Messrs. James Baker (brother), Steve Baker (cousin). James Derbyshire, L. Miles, P. H. Foster. Bert Oliver. W. Hopkins and Constable John Walsh. The chief mourners at the graveside were Mrs. W. Levane (daughter), Mr. W. Levane (son-in-law), Messrs. O. S. Baker, Francis Baker, David and James Baker (brothers), Mrs. Charles Rush (sister), Mr. Charles Rush (brother-in- law). Mrs. E. Denton (step-sister), Mr. E. Denton (brother-in-law), Mrs. O. S. Baker and Mrs. P. Baker (sisters-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Baker and Mr. and Mrs. Eric Baker, and Mrs. L. Holt (nephews and nieces). Among the many friends noticeable at the graveside were Messrs. Will and Robert Maguire, John Quigley jun., Jack Graham, Albert Baker, Mr. Hamilton. J. Potter, Mrs. J. Walsh, Miss Annie Baker, Miss Ethel Baker, George Reineker, Ernest Budd, E. Holloway, Mrs. Ansel. Relatives, and friends were present from Gregadoo, Borambola, Ladysmith, Griffith, Forest Hill, Lake Albert and Wagga. The funeral arrangements were conducted by Mr. J. C. M'Donald, of Wagga.
