Paul E. Morrison Dies Tuesday

Paul E. Morrison passed away at his home on Arizona Street in Portales about 10 o'clock Tuesday night. Death came suddenly though he had been ill for more than 2 years. The past few weeks he seemed to have gained in strength and those nearest him were in hopes that his life might be spared several months. He had taken a drive in the afternoon and returned as usual and about ten a hemorrhage from the lungs took his life in a few minutes.

Paul Morrison was born in Dimmitt Texas Aug 14, 1896. He came to Portales when one year of age and spent the remainder of his life here. His parents built, owned and operated the first store in Portales. They also built the first residence in Portales. He received all his education in Portales.

On December 20, 1920 he was married to Mrs. Lurline Sandefur who had been his constant companion as well as nurse.

He was in the county clerks office for 10 years as deputy and 4 as County Clerk. For one year he was with the Chevrolet Motor Co as parts man.

he was an ex-service man in the World War.

Paul leaves a wife, a mother, one brother, Seth Morrison, a niece and a nephew to mourn his departure.

Rev. Claude a. Lorts will conduct the funeral services at the residence 106 Arizona Street, on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.

Interment in Portales cemetery, with Wheeler & Johnson in charge.
