Betty L. Pattengale Rutherford, 83, Kokomo, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Golden Living Center. She was born August 11, 1928, in Kokomo, to Prince Albert and Grace (Spencer) Hatt. On June 29, 1968, she married Evert Rutherford, and he survives.

She retired from Delco and was a member of UAW 292. She attended Greentown Assembly of God. She enjoyed camping, traveling, cooking, and working in her yard. She cherished spending time with her family and absolutely loved to talk.

She is survived by two sons, Glen Pattengale, Anderson, and Mike (Susie) Pattengale, Kokomo; one daughter, Sandy (Ed) Taylor, Florida; one step-son, David (Lisa) Rutherford, Kokomo; 15 grandchildren, Tammy Huffman, Toby Taylor, Glenn Pattengale, Melinda Robinson, Michael Taylor, Jennifer Ellis, Heather King, Richard Pattengale, Matt Pattengale, Dax Rutherford, Wesley Rutherford, Cole Rutherford, Lisa Pattengale, Jermey Pattengale, and Marielena Dean; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Glen Pattengale; one son, Rick Pattengale; five brothers; and five sisters.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick Bousom officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Point Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Diabetes Association .
