Grace Alice Spencer was born on 21 October 1891, in Kokomo, Howard County, Indiana to Elisha and Mary Jane Farley Spencer.

Grace Alice Spencer was the youngest child in her family and had four siblings, George W., Edward, Laura Gertrude and William.

She married Prince Albert Hatt 25 September 1909 in Kokomo, Howard County, Indiana and there were twelve children born of their union. Six of the children died when very young and they were; Herbert Earl, Margarite, Ethel Gertrude, Mildred, Robert L., and Paul Vernon. Those that reach adulthood were Dorothy Isabell (Tanner, Comer), Clarence Floyd, Charles William, Lorena Maxine (Hall, Williams), Betty (Rutherford, Pattengale), and Ralph O. Spencer.

Grace died on 19 May 1970 in Kokomo and was laid to rest beside her husband, Prince Albert Hatt on 22 May 1970, in Crown Point Cemetery.

Mrs. Grace A. Hatt, 78, 5809 Arrowhead Blvd., died in the Howard Community Hospital Tuesday following a two-year illness.

Born in Kokomo, Oct. 21, 1891, she was the daughter of Elisha and Mary Jane Farley Spencer. she had lived here most of her life.

In 1909 she was united in marriage with Prince Hatt, who preceded her in death in 1964.

She was a member of the First church of the Nazarene.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Evert (Betty) Rutherford, Kokomo; three sons, Floyd (Bill) Hatt, Charles Hatt and Ralph Hatt, all of Kokomo; 23 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She had been the last surviving member of her family.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the Ellers Funeral Chapel with the Rev. G. W. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home between 4 and 9 p.m. Thursday.
