Thelma Mae Quinn Harris is the daughter of Henry Edgar Quinn (Oct. 26, 1878 AL - Feb. 08, 1971 AL) and Sara Alice Black Quinn (Jan. 26, 1883 GA - Sept. 07, 1971 AL). She was the wife of John "J.B." Harris. Thelma and John "J.B." Harris were the parents of:

(1.) Alice Harris Usrey (1925-March 30, 1979)
(2.) Dorothy Harris Partee
(3.) Sue Harris White
(5.) Ralph Edward Harris (1932-Dec 13, 1955)
(6.) Jackie Lamar Harris (1941-Mar 15, 2003)
(7.) Carolyn Harris

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Crestwood Cemetery for Thelma Mae Harris, 93, Gadsden Health Care, who died Sunday March 9, 1997. The Revs. Buster Latimer and Stan Broom will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.

Mrs. Harris was a charter member of West End Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Harris, son, Ralph Harris, and daughters, Carolyn Harris and Alice Usrey.

She is survived by her son, Jackie (Nelida) Harris, Glencoe; daughters, Dorothy (Dawson) Partee and Sue (Marion) White, both of Gadsden; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Gordon and Bill Quinn, both of Attalla; and sister, Undine Chastain, Gadsden.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Allen Partee, Scott Harris, great-grandsons, Brad Howard, Jeff Morgan, Craig and Lee Battles.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff at Gadsden Health Care for their excellent care and special attention during her illness.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 this evening.
