John B. "J.B." Harris is the son of William Albert Harris and Cora Miller Harris. He was the husband of Thelma Mae Quinn Harris.

Mr. Harris

John B. (J. B.) Harris, 75, 406 Chester St., died yesterday at 8:15 a.m. at a local hospital after an extended illness.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Thelma Harris; daughters, Mrs. Rayford Usrey, Mrs. Dawson Partee an Mrs. Marion White, Jr., all of Gadsden; son, Jackie L. Harris, Attalla; sisters, Mrs. Clyde Black, Birmingham; Mrs. Thelma Cantrell, Forest Park, GA.; Mrs. Elsie Harrison, Bessemer; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be tomorrow at 11 a.m. from Collier-Butler Chapel with the Revs. Buster Latimer and Grady Helms officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.

Active pallbearers , J.T. Wood, Newman Stephens, David McElwee, Larry McElwee, Jerry Chastain, G.W. Jackson, Joel Howard and Hoyt Hamrick.

Honorary pallbearers, Dr. John Campbell, Dr. Lucian Newman, Dr. Joe Denson, Jim Bigham, Ensley Graham, Larry May, Ray Palka, Talmadge Gaither, Clyde Buchanan, George Fish and all personal friends.

Mr. Harris was a native and life long resident of Etowah County. He was a member of the West End Baptist Church and was retired after 20 years service with Agricola Furnace.

The body will remain at Collier-Butler through the hour of service. Collier-Butler Funeral Home directing.
