The funeral services for Malnin C. Thofson of Geneva will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 12 at the Community Church in Geneva. Interment will be in the West Freeborn Lutheran Cemetery.
Malmin died on Tuesday, September 8,1998 at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. He was 91.
He was born on July 8, 1907 in Manchester, the son of Christ and Mina(Sibilrud) Thofson.
Malmin attended Manchester country school.
He was married to Clarine Tukua on Jan. 27, 1931 in Windom Minnesota.
Malmin had lived and farmed near Hayward for 25 years and had lived on an acreage near Ellendale for 23 years. He lived for several years in Albert Lea and the the past year he resided in Geneva. Throughout his life he has farmed and also worked for King Sealy Corporation in Albert Lea, retiring in 1969.
He had been a member of the Eagle's Club for 45 years.
Malmin enjoyed farming, antiques, gardening and refurbishing machinery. He was an excellent handyman, with the ability to fix anything!
He is survived by his son, Meloid Thofson of Hartland.
Four daughters; Doris(Ralph)Coppock of Hartland, Eunice (Dean)Imn of Owatonna, Shirley(Chris)Herum of Des Moines, Iowa and Betty Taha of West Des Moines, Iowa.

Two sisters; Ruby (Merle) Horan of Verndale and Viola Cleveland of Detroit, Michigan.
A brother Alert Thofson of Albert Lea.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Clarice; five sisters, three brothers and one grandson, Clayton.
Malmin will be sadly missedby his lving family and many friends.
