Death of David Overturf, 74, at Polson, MT on 13 Nov 1951. He was born in Shelby county, IA. David was a former stage driver in the Bitter Root valley, caretaker at Montana State college and lumberman in the Polson region.
David came with his parents, Jacob B. and Rozella Overturf, to the Deer Lodge valley, MT from Iowa in 1883 and then to Darby in 1887. David attended Darby schools and lived there until about 1925 when he moved to Bozeman, then to Boulder and finally to Polson the past few years. He is survived by his widow, Eva Williamson Overturf; three sons, Cloyse, David C., Jr., and Arthur; two sisters, Mrs. N.E. Wilkerson and Mrs. L.D. Williamson. He was buried at Lone Pine Cemetery, Darby, near the graves of his parents, and five of his children who died in early childhood at Darby.
