Mr. Byrd, 64, died Dec. 25, 2002, at his residence. He was born in Natchez on Nov. 8, 1938, to Ben and Mary Etta Arnold Byrd.
He was a member of the Christlife fellowship. He was a Navy veteran.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his sisters, Geneva Byrd Floyd and Sybil Byrd Smith; and one niece.
Survivors are his wife, Gayle Hammett Byrd of Meadville; his son, Allan Byrd of Natchez; his daughters, Janet Good and Connie Taylor, both of Meadville; his brothers, Don Byrd of Sanger, Texas, Bennie Byrd of Natchez, and Tom Allen "Jack" Byrd of Meadville; his sisters, Guynell Hall of Natchez and JoAnn Hollingsworth of Baker, La.; and six grandchildren and 23 nieces and nephews.
