Ollie Allen, 81 of Village 76, Kirksville, died at 2:15 this morning (Sept. 8, 1978) in a Kirksville hospital where she had been a patient since Sept. 2. Before entering the hospital, she had been a resident of Kirksville Manor Care Center.
The daughter of Richard and Susan Shoop Brown, she was born May 18, 1897 in Adair county near Connelsville. On Dec. 14, 1919 she was married to Glen E. Allen who preceded her in death in April 1958. Also preceding her in death were four bothers and two sisters.
Surviving are one son, Glen E. Allen of Jefferson City; one sister, Carrie Green of Kirksville; four grandchildren, Julie Ann Allen, Milissa Jane Allen, James David Allen and Mark Stephen Allen and one great-granddaughter, Kimberly Kay Allen.
Mrs. Allen was a life-long resident of Adair county.
She was a member of the Freewill Baptist church.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon (September 10, 1978) at 2 o'clock in the chapel of the Davis Funeral Home. The Rev. Archie Cooper will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Novinger cemetery.
Bearers will be: James Allen, Stephen Allen, Leon Fox, Mark Hunt, Emmett Brown, Gerald Brown and J. J. Motter.
