Maude L. Elsea, 84, of 402 S. Elson died Saturday night at 11:15 in Terry's Boarding House in Edina, where she had been a resident the past year.
Born Jan. 16, 1890 in Adair county, she was the daughter of Richard and Susan Shoop Brown. On Aug. 11, 1909 at Kirksville she was married to Arthur W. Fox who preceded her in death in Sept. 1943. In 1945 she was married to Carm Elsea who preceded her in death in 1959. Also preceding her in death were one sister, Mrs. Harley (Kate) Wellman and four brothers, Walter Brown, Hal Brown, George Brown and Ed Brown.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Joe P. (Flora) Motter of Edina; two sons, Leon Fox of Normandy and Dick Fox of Edina; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and two sisters, Ollie Allen and Carrie Green, both of East Jefferson Street.
Mrs. Elsea was a life-long resident of Adair county and had lived for many years in Kirksville.
She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church and the WPFA.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock in the Hudson-Rimer Park View Chapel, Kirksville. the Rev. Archie Cooper will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Novinger cemetery.
The casket will be closed at the funeral hour and will not be reopened.
Bearers will be: Mike Fox, Bill Davis, J. J. Motter, Ralph Shain, Gerald Brown and Emmett Brown.
